interpreter leaves thursday. Jerrel is invaluable and i will miss him. God is good though! I feel driven by the Spirit this week.
We serve an amazing God! Today was another blessing as we witnessed His shield of protection over the Team on this journey. It was another hot day! We worked steady and Team members took breaks as needed. Shade is hard to come by. The Haitians are working hard to create a source of shade for us. Today was another day of laying block. We also started to fill block with a grout mixture to make this building "earthquake proof" This is a time consuming task but we know that in the event of another earthquake disaster we want a building that will remain standing so the doctors can provide emergency services in a time of drastic need. Evan led a grouting team that worked all day to keep ahead of the masons. This is a grueling task as they need to mix all this cement by hand because the mud mixer is being used to supply the masons. Once again God provided everything the Team needed. Even with some experiencing heat issues God kept everyone safe again today.
Katrina has won the respect of every Team member. She has faithfully stuck to the challenging task of breaking the slabs out of every cement block delivered to the site. These block are cast different than US made block. As you can see each one has a solid covering over the cores of the block. These all need removed so we can fill the cores with the grout mixture. As the 3rd load of block arrived today she didn't hesitate, she dug into the task before her. Others have helped a while but most walk away, Katrina and her primary helper Choubou have been a beacon to us all. Choubou is also displaying the house he designed and made a model of. We are all impressed! He has used all recycled items for the build, no craft store down the street here.
Greg is really excited! He is making many new friends on this journey. He and his wife also support a Compassion International child about an hour from here. Greg has confirmed arrangements for his meeting with their family on Wednesday. He is anxious to meet this family in person, this has been a 6 year journey.
