Here is Wednesday's update we sent home: we are all doing fairly well. heat is taking a toll but we are doing good. trying to adjust diet for more protein in morning. the team needs more fuel for their tanks. good day again. children on site are fun to interact with. Greg had a great visit with his compassion child today! four feet of wall to go, all on scaffold we need to build. we will complete what God needs completed.thanks for the prayers, the Team
We have had pretty light breakfasts since we have been here. We are burning a lot of calories before lunch and may not be snacking enough. Steve got light headed today and blacked out. Several others also are getting dizzy at times. We will adjust diet some tomorrow morning. God is good and has covered everyone with His shield of protection. We are blessed that Katrina is one of those health food freaks, she knows what we need now!
Greg had an amazing trip to meet his sponsor child Sabonette. He glowed for the next several days and we could all see how filled he was by meeting Sabonette and her family. We were delighted God pulled together all the pieces of this puzzle. It was clear His hand was at work to allow Greg this visit.
Scaffold building went well, we are ready to start laying block again.
Finding a saw was an ordeal, there were no power saws for sale in
several towns around us. Yvon finally found 2 hand saws in a town about
45 minutes away. When he came back we found that the saws needed to be
sharpened and more set put into the teeth. Guess who showed up on site
within minutes--the local saw man! He really knew how to hand sharpen
and set a saw blade! Once again God provided exactly what we needed to
proceed to the next level of construction.
Dave and the Haitian workers had fun as they competed to see who could
drive the 20 penny nails faster. I am pretty sure there was some Haitian
"shuck & jive" going on as well. Sorry Dave, I think they were
taking it easy on you! The scaffolding is working out great!
Matt is trying hard to keep a "level head" about this whole ordeal. We seam to have lost Joe and haven't seen him in any pictures since the first day. Joe was our "opportunist" -- he is probably in the only shady spot on site. Joe---Joe where are you Joe??
Spider Man Jack! Going out in thin air to help move the project forward.
