Tuesday January 8 2013

Here is Tuesday's update: hello all
another great day in Haiti! Team doing well. The heat makes me glad i
m going to Heaven, not the other direction.
God is developing deeper friendships each day. i met the mayor of
LEstere a few days ago. today we met on the street and he remembered
me. i wonder how he picked me out of the crowd (ha ha)
we will need to start building scaffold Wednesday. building taking
shape. easily seen from road now.
today is sort of hump day. this is always a tough day. emotions were
high. please keep our prayer warriors praying. heat fatigue and
missing loved ones at home are issues for everyone.
-- love you guys

Things are really coming together! Today we got all the walls up to scaffold height.  We will need to start building scaffold tomorrow.  We don't have the luxury of portable scaffold like we use in the States, we will build platforms out of wood and then move these "big tables" around the job site to work off of. God has really blessed this Team with all the skills we need to complete the tasks He has placed before us. It is an amazing example of the "parts of the body" that Jesus speaks about and how they all work together to empower the other. This team is a complete "body" that holds Christ as the "Head".  Here are some shots of work and community. We are continually blessed by amazing people!

These young apprentices have been taking lessons from the masons for several days now.  Look at the masterpiece they have created from things that we have discarded! Future Contractors in Haiti!!

Dan loses his sole in Haiti!! The sole of his shoe that is.  Not only his but someone loaned him another pair of shoes--lost those as well!! Duct tape and good friends can fix anything!
